Change in Loyola Schools Monday to Friday Class Schedules for 2nd Semester SY 2015-2016

Subject: Change in the Loyola Schools Monday to Friday Class Schedules Effective Second Semester of School Year 2015-2016

This is to inform the Loyola Schools Community that in consultation with the student body and with the community in the regular School Forum on 9 October 2015, the Loyola Schools Administrative Council in its meeting on 6 November 2015 approved for pilot implementation the change in the Monday to Friday class schedules in the second semester of SY 2015-2016 as detailed below.

With the start of regular classes at 8:00 a.m., Physical Education (PE) classes will start at 7:30 a.m. M-W-F classes will still be 1-hour per session and T-TH classes still at 1.5 hours per session. A new M-F early evening time slot for undergraduate classes is scheduled from 6:30-8:00 p.m. All evening classes will still end no later than 9:00 p.m.

I am requesting the undergraduate students to communicate this new schedule with their parents/guardians, especially the change in the students’ activity hour from 4:30-6:00 p.m. to 5:00-6:30 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays.

Subject: PAASCU Re-Accreditation for Loyola Schools Graduate Programs

I am pleased to inform the community that in a letter from the PAASCU Board of Directors dated 19 May 2014, the Loyola Schools Graduate Programs in Arts and Sciences have been granted re-accreditation for 5 years. This is valid until May 2019.
On behalf of the University, I would like to congratulate the entire Loyola Schools unit for this achievement.

We also thank the members of the committees who worked hard in organizing the documents and other resources that were needed for the accreditation process. Their names are in the attached list. We are blessed by their dedication and generosity. As with the grade school, we are grateful for this confirmation of our mission as educators of the Ateneo de Manila.

In this connection, in case you would like to refer again to some materials from last year’s Outcomes-Based Syllabus Writing Workshop, I would like to inform you that some of these materials have been uploaded to AIFIS.  Please click on “Downloads” then scroll down to “Curriculum and Instruction”.

You may download, among other materials, the course syllabus template and explanatory notes, the presentation on “Developing an Outcomes-Based Course Syllabus”, as well some sample syllabi.  You will also find some materials on developing an OB curriculum/degree program.
