Loyola School Scholarly Work Awards/ With Most Social Impact for SY 2010-2011

This is to announce the opening of the /Loyola Schools Outstanding Scholarly Work Awards/ and the /Loyola Schools Scholarly Work/ /with Most Social Impact/ for SY 2010-2011. These awards give recognition to the scholarly work of full-time faculty members of the Loyola Schools.

The /Outstanding Scholarly Work Award/ is a special recognition to work of such quality that contributes significantly to the discipline, is novel or innovative, and/or meets high standards of excellence, e.g., an article in an ISI journal or a book published by a reputable publishing institution. The award is given to the most outstanding scholarly work in the Humanities, Science and Engineering, Social Sciences, and Management. Each Outstanding Scholarly Work Award is accompanied by a plaque and a cash prize of P50,000 net of taxes (to be shared with co-authors for coauthored work; co-authors who are not Loyola Schools faculty members are not eligible for the awards).

/*Nomination:*/ The author, a colleague, or the Dean may nominate any published work by submitting in writing the following information:

1. Full citation details of the nominated work (authors, title of work, journal or publisher, year, volume, number, pages),
2. An exposition of why the work is deemed outstanding, and
3. Name and signature of nominating person

The /Scholarly Work with Most Social Impact/ recognizes sound scholarly work that makes a distinct difference in addressing socio-civic and national development concerns. One scholarly work will be selected from among the four schools. Textbooks, applied research, creative works, and publications written for professionals and/or the lay audience are eligible, if they meet the above qualifications. There is no particular time frame for the conduct or publication of the scholarly work; however, the work can only
be granted the award once. Nominated works that do not receive the award in a given year may be reconsidered in the subsequent years.

The Scholarly Work with Most Social Impact is accompanied by a plaque and a cash prize of P50,000 net of taxes (to be shared with co-authors for co-authored work; co-authors who are not Loyola Schools faculty members are not eligible for the awards).

Nomination: The author, a colleague, or the Dean may nominate a scholarly work by submitting in writing the following information:

1. Full citation detail of the nominated work (full bibliographic entry for published work or detailed information for unpublished work, e.g., title, sponsoring organization, dates, and others)
2. An exposition of why the work is deemed of high social impact,
3. Relevant testimonials from individuals or groups outside of the Ateneo who attest to the social impact of the work, and
4. Name and signature of nominating person

The deadline for submission of nominations for the Outstanding Scholarly Work and Work with Most Social Impact Award is January 31, 2012.

The Awards will be conferred at the Loyola Schools Scholarly Work Awards Ceremony in March of 2012.
