PAASCU Level IV and institutional accreditation of Loyola Schools

ATENEO DE MANILA UNIVERSITY
Office of the President

3 December 2011

MEMO TO : The University Community

FROM : The President

SUBJECT : PAASCU LEVEL IV AND INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION OF LOYOLA SCHOOLS

I am pleased to inform the Community that the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities or PAASCU granted the Ateneo de Manila Loyola Schools Level IV Re-accreditation for 21 academic programs as well as Institutional Accreditation. This was given at the PAASCU General Assembly last 25 November 2011.

The awarding of simultaneous Institutional and Level IV recognition is a first in the country. No other Philippine school has been accorded such status.

On behalf of the Ateneo de Manila, I would like to thank the Loyola Schools for their continuing efforts to raise the quality of education in our University. I am also grateful to Dr Ma Celeste T Gonzalez, Dr Anna Miren G Intal, Dr Ma Assunta C Cuyegkeng, Ms Cynthia Totanes, and all the committees who have worked on the different aspects of the accreditation, for spearheading the initiative to apply for Institutional Accreditation, and for putting together the voluminous documentation needed in these quality assurance efforts.

This singular achievement is an expression of our aim to “advance academic excellence in our learned ministry,” which excellence is inextricably linked to our mission and identity.

ad majorem Dei gloriam,

Jose Ramon T Villarin SJ

President
